Frequently Asked Questions
How do I calculate a weighted grade?
To calculate a weighted grade manually, multiply each assignment's grade by its weight (as a decimal). Add the results together. For example, if you got a 90 on a test worth 40% (0.40) and 100 on homework worth 20% (0.20): (90 * 0.4) + (100 * 0.2) = 36 + 20 = 56 points towards your final grade.
What is the standard US grading scale?
Most schools in the US use a 5-point scale: A (90-100%), B (80-89%), C (70-79%), D (60-69%), and F (below 60%). Our easy grading calculator uses this scale by default.
How does the EZ Grader Chart work?
The EZ Grader tab creates a reference table. Simply enter the total number of questions on your test. The table will show you exactly what the percentage grade is if a student misses 1, 2, 3, or more questions.
Can I use this for university or high school grades?
Yes. This gradebook calculator is designed for both high school and college students. It supports weighted assignments which are common in university syllabuses.
